The same as the Poppy O’ Neill children’s social learning series, each book of Paula’s When I Am introduces a single behavior that guides parents and teens to have a basic understanding of what is important for them in their life development.
Paula’s When I Am series does not include any activities. Instead, by using simple language with lots of anime, the books re more appealing to teen’s interests and enable them to easily understand the meaning in different cognitive behaviors.
About the author
Jayneen Sanders is not only a mother of three teenagers, but she has been a primary teachers since the 1980s. In the meantime, she has also published over 150 stories for children.
To be both a teacher and a parent inspired her to ask the question of her community: “What are we doing in schools to empower children and protect them from inappropriate touch?” As she realized that we are doing very little for our kids, she decided to help parents, caregivers, and teachers raise awareness of self-protection, and encourage children to speak out.
