Many prominent theories originate from people’s curiosity. The most famous one is Newton’s Law of Gravity. Newton wanted to find out the reasons why an apple was falling from a tree. After that, he maintained his persistence and curiosity to find out the reasons. Finally, he discovered that there is a gravitational force acting on Earth, causing the other planets to rotate along a dedicated orbit around the Earth.
Questioning a human innate ability and especially important while children are under their brain development. Therefore, it is normal for children to be desperately questioned about why, where, when, how, and who – that initially comes from their inquisitive desires. It is encourage that we reply for them patiently, as much as we can.
The aim is to boost children’s desires to explore and chase the results from their self-capabilities. Ultimately, they can develop techniques such as typing, observing, comparing, and learning without deterred from exploring them.
The same as the Poppy O’ Neill children’s social learning series, each book of Paula’s When I Am introduces a single behavior that guides parents and teens to have a basic understanding of what is important for them in their life development.
Paula’s When I Am series does not include any activities. Instead, by using simple language with lots of anime, the books are more appealing to teen’s interests and enable them to easily understand the meaning in different cognitive behaviors.
About the author
Paula Bowles is not only an excellent children’s picture book author but also is good as an illustrator. One of her solo children’s picture books, as author and illustrator, The Tiny is a Tidy Crab, was published in 2022 and won the Portsmouth Picture Book Award in 2023. Another award is that the illustrator of a young fiction book, Mary and the Maga Robot, won the Lancashire School Library Services, “Brilliant Book Award 2023.”
