Content Consideration

The Tiny Star is a story about value of life which touches death, teens can learn no one can escape from death – their mother, father, friends, or pets will die one day. Teens can learn that death is not a terrifying thing. If someone is gone, all we can do is to sustain and continue the love and memories that they are leaving with us.

The Tiny Star is talking about a star falling from the sky to the earth and then transforming into a baby. The star adventures as a human through childhood, adulthood, and old age. At the end of the story, the star goes back to they sky after it dies and continues to shine on us.

The author, Mem Fox, is not only a children picture book author who has written over 45 children’s books, many of them becoming international classics, but also has written five non-fiction books for adults. She taught teachers at Finders University, South Australia for 24 years. She is now a Retired Associate Professor here.
